This sympathetically and carefully renovated cottage was originally built as the lodge house for Dalvey House. It is suitable for everyone from young families to retired couples and beyond. We provide flexible accommodation for four people and will do everything we can to meet the needs of all our guests. Within a convenient distance to Inverness Airport, with flights from major cities across the UK, don’t go thinking The Highlands are too far away for a short break.

East Lodge has two king rooms and both beds can be made into twins if necessary. We also provide a comfortable double sofa bed for extra guests or children. There is a shower room downstairs plus a family bathroom with a good-sized bath and shower upstairs.  All towels provided are of a luxury quality and there are complimentary toiletries to see you through your stay.

The kitchen and dining room are open-plan, bright and well-equipped for all guests’ needs. A starter pack with coffee pods, tea, milk and biscuits is provided. The sitting room is decorated in a country cottage style with comfortable sofas and a wood burning stove for cosy Winter getaways.

Outside the cottage, the garden comprises a quarter of an acre of land, giving you plenty of space for relaxing with dinner and a glass of wine in the Summer months or playing games outdoors with children. A BBQ is provided for those that like to cook al fresco and there is a site for a hot tub, too, should you wish to hire one, for a taste of opulence all year round.

There is Wi-fi and an Amazon Fire stick on each TV so there’s lots of choice for children's programmes or there are many board games to play, too. If a cot is needed for young children or you have any other requirements for a family holiday, just ask.

We really mean it when we say we will do everything we can to create the perfect escape to The Highlands so make your needs a priority when you book with us and we will do whatever we can to meet them.

What our guests say about us

“East Lodge can only be described as the perfect accommodation for those looking to explore the Moray Coast. Situated only a mile or so from the town of Forres, it is perfect for a quiet retreat but also offering you easy access to all amenities you could need. The house has been lovingly restored to a very high standard. The owners really have thought about pretty much everything a family would need when on a self -catering holiday. The lounge was luxurious, comfortable and warm; with the log burning fire a very nice addition. The kitchen was finished to a very high standard and had all the equipment that could possibly be required. The bedrooms were larger than we initially expected and this was great when travelling with our toddler twins. The garden was a great space for our girls to run about in and explore and the ability to go for walks at night throughout the estate was a nice end to each day.

There is ample parking for two large cars directly opposite the house and accessing the property was very easy due to the detailed instructions we received from the owner in advance of our arrival. We were very lucky with the weather during our stay and this let us make the most of our time on the Moray Coast. East Lodge is the perfect location for exploring Lossiemouth, Findhorn, Elgin, the distilleries around Dufftown and even further afield along the coast towards both Aberdeen and Inverness. We really could not fault this property and had a great staycation week. We will almost certainly be back - if you have any availability after all these good reviews!” - David

Just a quick note to say thank you very much for a lovely stay at East Lodge, and please pass on my best wishes to Caroline, whom we met very briefly when we arrived. It had all that we needed and more (we only have one TV!) and provided the perfect break, in just the right location.  - Tim
